This week we have been writing play scripts in class.  Write your own script to match this picture of a scene from midsummer night’s dream.

Transport Timeline

-      Literacy (20mins): Next week we will be visiting the transport museum.  For your homework we would like you to create a timeline of modes of transport.  The time-line should span from the Roman Era to today.  Please include detailed descriptions and images or sketches.

Some one special

-      In PSHE we will be talking about people that are important to us.  Please bring in a photo or drawing of someone special to you that you can stick in your book.

-      Write a paragraph describing the person and why they are special to you.  Try to include:

 

o   Expanded noun phrases (eg When I go to her small house she gives me a great big loving hug.)

• Fronted adverbials (eg In the morning, he makes my breakfast)

Conjunctions (eg When I am feeling down she tells me a joke so I forget my worries.)

Animal Poems

• Literacy-
  This term in science we have been learning about animals and their habitats.  For your homework we would like you to find a poem about your favourite animal to perform to the class after half term.

Tudor Sailor diary

 

-      Literacy (20mins Imagine what it would be like to be a Sailor in Tudor times.  Write a diary entry about your experience.  Try to include: -How you felt. -What it smelt like. -What you heard. Remember to write in first person using adverbials of time to link your paragraphs.    Angus’s Diary of a Tudor Sailor It is 1578 aboard the Golden Hind. Today is the 17th October. It is night and we’re still sailing. It is strange, we don’t usually sail at night. I have noticed that Captain Drake seems slightly bothered lately. Maybe it’s because he suspects we’re being chased by the Spanish (spit spit spit). Life aboard ship is hard. I have no idea where we are although rumours say we just sailed round the tip of a place called Emerica. Earlier today I was firmly told by Captain Drake to go up to the crows nest. Then he told me in a hoarse whisper to watch out for the Spanish ships. I can’t believe how much you get rocked about up there. I felt quite sick after 10 minutes I came down the rigging and was bled arrgh that hurt. Later I was asked to help with an amputation. I do not like helping out with amputations. I was asked to hold down the unlucky person about to become an amputee!

Leaflet

  In geography we have been using maps to find out about the local area and making leaflets about the best places to visit in Hounslow.  For homework think about a place you have visited (eg London, France, Manchester).   Create a leaflet about the location.  Try to include:

• Places you may visit – Zoos, cinema, beach
• A map – drawn or copied.
• Exciting descriptions of each place including expanded noun phrases.
• Pictures, captions, labels and subheadings.

Habitats

-      Write fact sheet about a country, continent or biome of your choice.

 

Include:

-      A description of the place – rainforest, desert, mountainous

-      Facts about your region – rainfall, temperature

-      Major towns and cities

-      Rivers

-      Which habitats are there

Which animals live there
