I can see men, horses and some hieroglyphics. Men are farming with horses and using horses for machines. We use horses today. I think this picture was painted because then we can find out about the Ancient Egyptians and what it was like in Egypt
ReplyDeleteSome good observations Jaiya. Try to write a little more next time.
DeleteIn the picture at the top I can see a horse so I think that the horse is pulling a farming tool to gather vegetables and fruit. In the picture below that there are 2 horses a cart and someone in the cart so the horses are pulling the cart to transport the person. Finally in the last picture there is a person so I think that he is worshiping his god. We still write to maybe communicate with people and I think that poor people still use horses and carts to transport. I think that the picture was painted to tell people to worship their god often, to say that you can buy a cart to transport and to say that you can buy a vehicle that can collect or cut your crops for you.
ReplyDeleteI think that the picture is called Thebes they said online that the man at the side is shown balding and he is taking an oath saying “As the Great God who is in the sky endures, the boundary stone is exact!”
Well done you you have deduced lots of information from the picture. Why do you think the picture was painted?
DeletePicture from the British Museum
ReplyDeleteThe picture from the British Museum is showing there is a bald, poor dressed farmer which is holding a special tool to help farming. At the side I can see four horses. There is a black horse and two white horses and one brown horse with people working like building carriages. I think the poor dressed farmer is giving an oath. The horses are waiting for their carriages to be finished and the people are building the carriages for the horses. I think it shows about the daily life in the old time.
Nowadays we use the horses for a horse race or ride on them for fun. This picture was painted so we can see how it would feel if we were in the olden times.

When do you think the picture was painted?
DeleteOn the picture I can see 3 horses , hieroglyphs and 3 egiptian men. They are doing work. We still have horses and sticks and also we can write on walls. The ancient egiptians made this picture because they wanted everyone to see what they did. They draw this wonderful old picture on a material paper called papyrus.
ReplyDeleteWell done Oli Some great descriptive sentences. Try to write a little more next time.
DeleteI can see Egyptian alphabets and men with sticks doing something with the horses. There is a wheel somewhere in the picture. I think that there are people herding horses and riding them with the wheel like a cart. Yes there are things that we use today in the painting, there are the carts that we use sometimes now. They had men holding long sticks which some people use today to maybe get something down from too high. This picture could be painted so people could understand what ancient Greeks did a long time ago or maybe they painted it to hang in the ancient houses and when the houses got demolished the picture might have survived and fell down on the ground and got discovered.
ReplyDeleteWell done Pritesh you have spotted lots of detail. Try to organise your writing in paragraphs next time.
Deleteancient greek pictures!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIn the picture above i see a two headed horse and a elephant in the bottom right .
I can also see a random person looking at the rosseta stone on the left .
And in the top right I can see a person pushing a horse forward with a stick .
The things I see in the picture that we still use today is ;
horse
a wheel
people
and an elephant .
I think the picture was painted because in those days colors weren't invented and i think that this picture was drawn in the modern days .

DeleteThe Ancient Egyptian Picture
DeleteWhat Can You See?
----------------------------
1) I can see three men wearing shendyts which are similar to skirts, but are pleated and belted at the front. They are white to keep them cool in the hot desert. I can also see two dark coloured horses pulling a ploughing vehicle with a man inside. Two white onagers are pulling a travelling chariot (underneath the ploughing chariot) with a traveller in the chariot. This picture is set in sandy fields. Last but not least I can see a five columned hieroglyph register above the man on the left hand side.
What Do You Think Is Happening In This Picture?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
2) The man on the right hand top corner is ploughing with two horses in a field. The man underneath him is travelling with two white onagers (a type of donkey). The third man is checking the taxes and the crops on the left hand side with his hieroglyph register.
Are There Any Things That We Still Use Today?
----------------------------------------------------------------
3) We use wheels in clocks, pulleys, electronics, under chairs, shower cubicles, windmills, and in modes of transport. We use horses in horse riding and in horse racing as well. Now we still use chariots in bullock carts. In the colosseum located in Rome gladiators used to fight on chariots pulled by horses. Some poor people in developing continents such as the African and partly the Asian still use the ancient Egyptian ploughing tools.
Why Do You Think That This Picture Was Painted?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
4) This picture was painted to remember the ancient Egyptian chariots and cropping methods. Hieroglyph registers were used to register the taxes of the poor people. Chariots were used as weapons of war as well as trade and exchange vehicles. A horse was a very royal and expensive animal because it is extremely fast and sturdy. The local and less expensive animals were onagers, donkeys and oxen. Wheels were not ideal for the desert and sandy environment and especially not good for long distances. The friction is very high on sand so the chariot won’t move as quickly as on concrete or other smooth surfaces.

Master Om
Excellent detailed answer Om you may give yourself 2 dojos. You have done lots of research and found some key vocabulary. Was there anything that you found out that surprised you?
DeleteI can see two white horses and one black horse ,accompanied by two masters.I think the white horses are being used as a carriage instead of a chariot. the black horse is a chariot, probably in a race. We still use horses today and sometimes carriages. I think this picture was made to represent someone in there tomb.
ReplyDeleteWho do you think the Egyptians wanted to see the picture?
DeleteI can see three separate pictures which are set in Ancient Egypt. These pictures are usually found on tomb walls of rich and important people and they represent important events of their life time.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures were from the tomb of Nebamun. Nebamun was responsible for collecting grain from the farmers and taking it back to the temple.
In the first picture a poor old farmer checks the white stone which shows the edge of his field.
The other two pictures show two horse drawn chariots that could have been usedto carry Nebamuns's inspectors as they are checking the farmers fields.

What can you learn about farming in Egyptian times from the pictures?
DeleteI see three people in this picture. There is one person with a horse and a cart attached to the horse and he is sitting on. There is another person with a stick and his back is bent. The last one was a person setting the cart up. In the background was some ancient Egypt writing and there were some patterns. I think a person is sitting up a cart in this picture. I don’t think that there is anything in this picture we still use but some people use horse. I think this is painted because it has some white bits and it has a bit of mud and paint makes.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think the writing might say?
DeleteWhat can you see?
ReplyDeleteIn this picture I can see, horses, men and Egyptian writing called 'Hieroglyphics' i can also see a horses with carriages.
What do you think is happening?
In the picture it looks like the Egyptian men are farming with the horses it also look like a man is digging with a long stick.
Are there anythings we still use today?
I think farmers still use horses to farm. I have also seen horses with carriages being used today.
Why do you think this picture was painted?
I think this picture is very old and was painted to show us what it was like in the Ancient Egyptian times.
Do you think the Ancient Egyptians thought their art would last so many years ?
DeleteI think it is a picture of ancient Egypt. In the picture I see a man begging , a chariot and a farmer ploughing. I see a big tree and some letters carved on the walls (ancient Egypt writing).I see a poor old man with a stick begging for food or money. A farmer is ploughing his fields to grow food to feed his family and if he has more then to sell it. A person is riding on a chariot which shows us about the mode of transportation in the Egyptian times. I also see a big tree in the corner. In many parts of the world people still use this method of ploughing the fields. However, we rarely see chariots because they are used only for special occasions and in the modern times we use cars for transportation. Sometimes we also see poor people begging for food or money. I think this picture was painted so that people in the future know how things worked in ancient Egypt.
ReplyDelete- Sid
Lovely description Sid with lots of detail. You could use prepositions to vary your sentence openers (eg. on, under or next to).
DeleteIn this picture I can see:
ReplyDelete(top)A man on a brown wooden chariot. The chariot is being pulled by a brownish grey horse. There is a rope attached to the horse which makes the chariot move forward. Also there are two wheels attached to the chariot to make it move swiftly.I think the man is going on a long journey to a different place in Egypt.
(Below) A wooden plough with a human inside, using it to grow crops. Two white horses behind are pulling the plough with there mighty! might!!!I think the human is growing crops for his/her family to eat.We still use this type of plough in India!
(left)A man painting some hieroglyphics in orange and black to give a message to a person who finds it.This painting may have been painted in a cave because I can see some grey rocks.Hieroglyphics may still be used in Egypt.
I think this picture was painted to make people come to their land because it has many things and could offer protection.
Regards, Krish
Great description. Where do you think this picture was painted? Who would have seen it?
DeleteWhat Can I See
ReplyDeleteI can see a middle aged man holding a sickle with a fairly long stick attached to the bottom of the blade. Above this man’s head I see some
Egyptian hieroglyphics, this fits with the Egyptian theme because it looks like this drawing was engraved on the wall of a pyramid or papyrus which was first founded by the Egyptians. There is also a fairly young ancient Egyptian man who is also about to climb on a historical wooden horse cart at the back of a large black stallion. Under that there is another man doing the same thing. But the cart is the opposite way round on a large white double
headed horse.
What do I think is happening
I think the middle aged man is coughing on his hand while trying to ha-
vest crops. As I mentioned I think and am almost certain that the h-
ieroglyphics above the man’s head are on a pyramid (Egyptians kings
graves) wall so he can be transported to the afterlife safely with the r-
eligous scriptures. The other men are boarding horse carts to travel.
Is there anything that we still use today
• In poor countries people still use horse carts to move around as they
can’t afford cars and motorbikes.
• In many countries people use sickles to harvest crops like wheat.
Why do you think this picture was painted
I think this picture was engraved in the first place to symbolize life and the move to the afterlife or just a decorative picture in Egyptian homes.
Ps. Sorry I posted it late
Please also post your name. Lovely description. Well organised.
DeleteI can see two horses ,hylogryphics and a horse and chariot.I think what is happening in the picture is that everyday life is being shown for example writing and travelling. We still use horses for transport,we still wear clothes (but more of them),we still use ink to write, but not on the walls.I think this picture was painted to show future people what ancient egypt was like.
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of every day life is being shown? What are they doing?
